Our Editor in Chief, got to connect with one of the event organizers of The RLGC, Cara Aiello. JZ got to ask her some questions about this fabulous event held at the Harvard Business School for their 9th YEAR!

Cara Aiello
Tell us about this annual fashion show, how did this come about?!
"The Retail & Luxury Goods Club Charity Fashion Show is an annual event organized by the Retail and Luxury Goods Club at Harvard Business School. Now in its 9th year, the show donates all of the proceeds from ticket sales to a local charity. Last year’s show donated more than $20,000 to Cradles to Crayons, a Boston-based charity that provides clothing, books, and school supplies to low-income children. This year, we are proud to have also raised over $20,000 for the Greater Boston Food Bank. The Greater Boston Food Bank seeks to eliminate hunger in the Boston community. It has provided over 500,000 meals in 2015 to those in need. We thank all of our attendees for their contribution to support this noble cause and encourage everyone to learn more about their efforts in our Boston community at gbfb.org'

What inspired the looks that were showcased?
"Gracing the catwalk on our amazing models are the latest fall fashion lines from a diverse set of both established and up-and-coming designers. We love to have student or up-and-coming designers showcased. This year we are proud to have had 3 new designers on our runway: Meltemi (a HBS-founded Greece-inspired swimwear line), Topology (another HBS-founded brand) and Darwin Clothing."

What was the goal for donations to the foodbank and how much did you end up getting donated?! "Over $20,000!"

What inspired to work with the foodbank? "The winter season is when the Food Bank needs the most help. As the holiday season approaches, we thought that our donations could truly make a difference in the lives of hundreds in our surrounding Boston community."

What are goals for next years event?! "Can we get 1,000 people in the audience of the Park Plaza Ballroom? I hope so!"
