NEXTonSCENE our Editor in Chief had the pleasure of connecting with the founders of Babbler, Hannah and Sarah Oiknine. These two rockstar sisters launched Babbler two years ago in Paris. After raising $2M in Europe, they just joined Techstars Austin to expand in the US!

"We are at a crossroads, and the digital revolution provides an opportunity to generate positive change. Some are afraid that new technologies go too far in automating PR, and will make its practitioners into robots. I say there is no danger of that happening!" Hannah Oiknine.

At Babbler, they deeply believe what people call “Social PR” and “Media Community Management” is creating your inbox to a conversations driven platform. They allow reporters to create, entertain and engage with media communities, spending LESS time on non-value tasks and more time creating engaging PR content.

Editor in Chief, Jaclyn Zukerman also got to ask the Hannah, a few questions about Babbler's platform and what inspired her to become a entrepreneur!

How would you describe Babbler to my audience?

"Babbler is a PR social network that connects companies with the right reporters and influencers. Our simple and smart PR platform helps companies attract audiences with their stories and translates that into coverage. Livestream your latest press releases, images, videos or speakers profiles directly with reporters you need. Say goodbye to the hell of emails follow-ups and media contacts lists and start conversations with the press!"

When did it launch?

"We launched from Paris in 2014."

What made you decide to become entrepreneurs?

"Since a very young age I always thought that being an entrepreneur was the best job on earth for many reasons. As a student I was crazy about innovation and wanted to create something "new". I quickly realized that launching a startup was the best way to make new things happen!"

What is the goal for Babbler?

"The goal of Babbler is to become the first PR social network that can allow any company, from any size and any industry to interact with the reporters they need to get featured."

Tell us a rewarding story thus far since you have opened the business?

"When we launched, I was a student and Sarah was pregnant. At that time, we had a prototype. After 4 months, we launched and applied to the Microsoft Imagine Cup. I was the only young girl with a business in that competition. I was very surprised and excited to WIN the cup!"
