As I wrapped up my first trade show/fashion show combo, I felt it would be inspiring to share how much I have learned within a year of all of these life experiences!!

I think many of you wonder how to balance it all as a business owner?

Being a business owner for SURE has it's ups and downs but you know what keeps us going more then anything? OUR DRIVE. OUR STRENGTH . OUR PASSION AND OUR HONESTY.

Being a business owner now for a total of three years has really taught me a lot. I started with just my podcast and doing public relations for clients. That has been fabulous but what is even more amazing, is to see people you support and love continue to grow. That I think that is what keeps me going.

Since I relocated to Boston from New York, I have seen one of my clients become a gold winner in Mass Challenge, I have seen my clients drive some elite celeb clientele from Lisa Vanderpump to Salt N Pepa. I have seen one of my clients get into their first boutique in Boston , Seen a client open their first shop in Newport, RI, Seen one of my clients walk in New York Fashion Week for the first time and SO MUCH MORE!

I am so honored to have been working with so many talented and humble individuals thank YOU for believing in me help YOU SOAR!

As stated above, I feel it is always important to share knowledge along the way because what better teacher then the ones who are going through it themselves?

Few things you should know:

1 When first starting out, donate your time to learn from people you look up to and help them. It will ALWAYS pay itself forward in your business. I am always grateful as I continue to grow to continue to donate my time and grateful to the people who continue to help me!

2. On a positive note: There are going to be some AMAZING people that come in to your life that want to soar and much as you do. Therefore, you push each other forward.

3. On a realistic note: There are also going to be people who are going to SAY things they are going to do and never do them, there are also going to be people who aren't going to be supportive of you as you grow and that is OK! You need to do you and be selfish sometimes and take care you to get to your next step.

4. TAKE Challenges and RISKS that is what life is about. The forever constant is change and adapting to things that are out of our control at times. It is really important to take risks and challenges but know that there are always going to be some amazing experiences out of it and some experiences that will be lessons to learn for improvement.

6. I can't tell you how important honesty is. It is really going to be the driving force that will continue to push you forward as a business owner. I would rather someone tell me this is not for them or they can't afford it or make the commitment rather then wasting ANYONE'S time or energy. Life is too short!

7. Don't BURN bridges. No matter how disappointed you might be in someone it is important to vocalize your feelings and then don't cut them off but feel free to distance yourself. Things always come back around when you don't treat someone with respect.

8. GIVE BACK. As I stated above, life is not a one way street. YES it would be IDEAL that things would be equal at ALL times but that is not life. What you can do is give back and give business advice/help people in need. It ALWAYS pays itself forward and you never know who you helped out that long term will come back to work in your favor when you least expect it!

9. BE ACTIVE on your SOCIAL MEDIA. People enjoy consistency and something to look forward to when they find something they like that you are doing. It doesn't have to be every day as I can attest that is a major commitment! Monday - Friday as a business owner it is important to do something first thing in the morning or between 5-8pm at night to engage your audience and clientele.

10. TAKE some TIME FOR YOU. When you love what you do , you sometimes can get caught up in your business and forget about YOU. YOU made your business. It wouldn't exist if you weren't in your best mental state to drive the force forward. Always make time for self care if thats meditating at night, going on a vacation once a year, take a day once a week to make it ALL about YOU pamper yourself and know you deserve it. Don't over indulge as that is never good for anyone but taking just that 5 minutes a night and 1 day a week really cleanses your state of mind and overall health!

11. BE NICE with BOUNDARIES. As you continue to grow your business people are going to see what they can take advantage of because everyone always wants to know first what's in it for them. That is how it should be as a client/business relationship BUT time costs you $$ so make sure what they are asking is worth it for YOU.

( I threw in an extra tip because 11 really topped it!)

I hope this gave you some positive insight on how to NOT give up. You are a driving force and WILL succeed at whatever you desire but KNOW you deserve it. DO NOT over analyze. Whatever is meant to be ALWAYS works out in it's own time but focus on what you can control in this very moment and it will ALWAYS work out better then you ever could have imagined!
