NEXTonSCENE recently sat down with the Founder and Creative Director of La Fille Collete, Colette Chrétien, to discuss the brand and where she hopes to take the collection going forward.

NEXTonSCENE: What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Collete Chretien: I have always wanted to design my own line. Entrepreneurship turned out to be the way to get to that point if I didn't want to work under someone else's brand. I didn't grow up wanting to be an entrepreneur like I did wanting to be a dress designer. In fact, I always call myself a "reluctant entrepreneur." Now, though, I love being an entrepreneur and can't imagine my life and career any other way.

NEXTonSCENE: Who is a La Fille Colette girl?

CC: The La Fille Colette girl is a strong and feminine woman who dresses for herself. She loves pieces that have something special about them, but that she can also dress up or down and make her own.

NEXTonSCENE: What can we expect to see at the holiday event?

CC: We'll have all our latest collection which includes fun little black dresses that are perfect for holiday parties, and we'll have lots of past-season items on sale!

NEXTonSCENE: What is next for La Fille Colette and where can your line be purchased?

CC: We are hard at work on our next collection, which will come out next year! You can purchase our dresses online, with free shipping and returns. You can shop us locally at some wonderful Boston area boutiques, including Max & Riley, Whats-Nu, and Best Dressed.

Be sure to check out the latest designs by La Fille Collete at the upcoming NEXTonSCENE Holiday Pop Up Shop on December 5, 2017.
