NEXTonSCENE loves our client, lalla bee! Melina Nmili, Founder and Creator of lalla bee will be showcasing at our Holiday Pop Up December 5th. If you have not heard of this rockstar YET here is a reason to learn more about her! Enjoy Melina's story of her rise through the fashion industry.
As a little girl in the Dominican Republic, I had an idea, un sueño. In 2011, it remained a nameless idea. Envisioning it was what I thought about when I was awake and when I was a sleep (seriously).
Fast forward to 2015 when I launched lalla bee with a six piece Fall 2015 collection. I didn't sell one piece & was devastated. Almost immediately, I found support In people that didn't believe in me (they tend to be very timely).
2017
Today, lalla bee is a small label designed to dress women in special occasion pieces. Like the self-made women who raised me, my pieces tell a story of strength, effortless beauty, and unwavering confidence. I don’t really follow trends, therefore my designs are intentionally timeless and investment pieces. This small company is not only my creative outlet it is also a way for me to communicate with the rest of the world.

I was raised by strong women. I have grown up around women who carry themselves with pride and grace regardless of the obstacles life may have presented them with. To not carry on and pick up where others before me left off would be a sin. To not help others along the way would be very ungrateful of me. lalla bee is my link to women from different backgrounds and from all over the world. It is my little contribution and hopefully a message of: “You seriously can do anything you put your mind and heart to.”
